You could not have asked for a nicer day to celebrate Arbor/Earth Day in Shavano Park. Attendees munched on hot dogs while visiting with friends and neighbors. There was a scavenger hunt and nature walk to help encourage everyone to enjoy the beautiful grounds around our city hall.

The children enjoyed arts and crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo, and face painting.

Magician, John O'Bryant, entertained the crowd with his illusions.

Trees and plants, e-waste recycling, paper shredding, and organic compost were available for our citizens to take advantage of. The Boy Scouts, Republic Services, the Edwards Aquifer and other community partners were there to hand out goodies and answer questions.

A special thanks to our Vice President, Suzy Bettac for coordinating with our City Secretary, Kristen Hetzel, on this event, and to all of our volunteers who made this event memorable for everyone who attended.
