Despite the cold and rainy weather, the holiday spirits at the 2024 Winter Holiday Event were high. SPW was out in full force for the event. Our poinsettia sale was a tremendous success once again. Shavano Park Women served 500 cups of hot chocolate to the attendees.
The Grinch came to see us again this year, complete with a police escort which kept a close eye on him as he posed for pictures with kids, parents and pets. Additionally, there was a chance to take photos with Santa.
This outstanding family-friendly event had lots of activities including: a cookie contest, and face painting. SPW's own Mary Young won her division in the cookie contest! Children and adults enjoyed playing in the snow. Additional entertainment was provided by Blattman cheerleaders and choir. The culmination of the event was the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Our city really knows how to throw a party! Thank you to everyone who gave their time to make this a special day for all!
